Dictador 'Cadenhead' 1980 / 39 years old 59.9%

This venerable single cask bottling of Colombian rum comes to us from Dictador. It is produced from spirit distilled in both pot and column stills and matured in a American oak barrel since November of 1980 and bottled at spectacular 39 years old. On the nose we found brown sugar, hard caramel, and raisins. The palate is remarkably chewy, plenty of fruit, chocolate, and bacon wrapped prunes. The finish is slightly salty, spicy, with a sweet note of brioche bun.
