Glenrothes 'Cadenhead' 1996 / 22 years old 50.1%

Distilled in 1996 at the Glenrothes distillery in Speyside, this new Cadenhead bottling from 3 Hogshead casks, offering flavours of orange zest and generous helpings of golden syrup. While the distillery is famous for its use of sherry casks, this expression shows how much of the Glenrothes character is actually from its spirit - the fruity (poached apricots) and brown sugar/golden syrup character in particular. Previous releases of Glenrothes from Cadenhead of this type have been highly sought after and this should be no exception.
