Located in the Muir of Ord, northwest of Inverness, the Ord (or Glen Ord) distillery is rarely seen outside of the 'Singleton' range, so it is always a pleasure to see a new release such as this from Cadenhead. This bottling comes from two Hogshead casks, one of which was re-racked into a Madeira wine cask. Described by Cadenhead as being vibrant and fruity, their tasting notes mention strawberries and raspberries with a lush note of banoffee pie. The creamy sweetness continues on the taste, joined by nutty marzipan, cola cubes and lemongrass. An under-appreciated whisky from the heart of the Black Isle.
