Fettercairn 'Old Malt Cask' 2004 / 14 years old 50%

Nestled in the foothills of the Cairngorms mountain region in the eastern Highlands of Scotland, the little known distillery of Fettercairn is a traditional one with wooden wash backs, an open top mashtun and smaller stills, producing a lovely lighter style of whisky. This single cask release from independent bottlers Hunter Laing has been maturing in a single refill hogshead cask for 14 long years, boasting aromas of fresh green apples, vanilla and a slight malty character. A fresh a lively palate with zesty lemons and more of that apple note which fades on to a long, sweet and fruity finish - the perfect Summer dram!
