PRODUCT DETAILS
This 42 year old whisky comes from the Caledonian distillery, which was at one time one of the largest grain whisky producers in Scotland. Situated in Edinburgh, Caledonian closed in the late 1980's and there have been very few bottlings of its whisky, this being amongst the very few we have had in our store. The tasting notes from Fred Laing, owner of Douglas Laing & Co.describe an Autumnal forest walk on the nose, with polished oak wood floors and a heady, runny honey note. The palate goes on to mention a silky smooth palate, with coffee mocha and a delightful sweet floral quality. An exotic spice finale and caramelised fruits round out this exceptionally rare and old single grain whisky.
