Distilled over 20 years ago at the Miltonduff distillery in Speyside, this single cask release was specially selected by Gordon & MacPhail. Filled on the 24/09/1997 in to a 1st fill sherry butt from Spain, this whisky has slowly developed a flavour of dried fruits (raisin, sultana, date) and stewed pears, becoming softly sweet with cocoa powder and spicy cinnamon tones. The palate is very weighty, with layers of flavour that fade away leaving a slightly mentholated note in the finish along with a woody tannic feeling. An excellent dram from one of the Spey valley's lesser-known distilleries.
