Tullibardine 'Cadenhead' 1993 / 26 years old 43.9%

This expression of Tullibardine was bottled from a pair of ex-American hogsheads, yeilding only 462 bottles. The strength is notably low for a cask strength whisky even at this age, often a sign of high spirit to cask interaction. On the nose we find tropical fruit notes, and mint leaves.
The palate backs this up with mangos, whipped cream, and golden syrup. The finish is complex, featuring caramelised bananas, honey, and a delicate oak-spice. An uncommon whisky to be independently bottled, this is a great example of the old Tullibardine style.
