The Amber Light Film Premiere

We are delighted to announce that we will be kicking off our DramFest weekend in style with the New Zealand premiere of Dave Broom's critically acclaimed whisky movie, The Amber Light.

A well kent face at DramFest, Dave has been writing about spirits for over thirty years now, with whisky taking the lead as his particular passion. This film follows him on his quest to gain a deeper understanding of his national drink, tracing his journey back to the roots of whisky to show how it is an integral part of a wider Scottish culture, rather than just a product. It unpicks some of the myths and half-truths which have adhered themselves to whisky, reclaiming the unheard, the funny, the offbeat and surprising truths that lie beneath.
