Situated in Craigellachie in the heart of Speyside, The Macallan distillery is perhaps one of Scotland's most famous malts. It is among the rarest distilleries to be seen independently bottled, making this new release from Douglas Laing's 'Xtra Old Particular' very special. Selected from a single refill barrel that was laid down in 1993, this 25 year old Macallan is described as being fruity and citric, with toasted wood, pear drops and key lime pie on the nose, with a rich palate of fruit syrup and light spice. A note of orange peel builds to a spicy finish with drying spices (nutmeg) and an old fashioned Scottish marmalade style.
