Glenrothes 'Adelphi' 1980 / 38 years old #7202 40.2%

After 38 years maturing in a refill ex-Sherry hogshead, this whisky from Glenrothes distillery has been bottled at the naturally low strength of 40.2%. the nose offers notes of apple crumble with shortbread, unripe bananas, red apples and tropical fruit salad. The palate is delicate, with notes of orange peel and toffee apples, finishing long with a slightly tangy note. A complex and layered dram from one of Speyside's finest producers of sherry cask matured whisky.
