Croftengea 'Old Malt Cask' 2006 / 12 years old 50%

Distilled at the Loch Lomond distillery in 2006, this single malt whisky is made from heavily peated barley and is an elusive dram because of very limited expressions of the spirit. This single cask release from the Old Malt Cask series was matured for 12 years in a refill hogshead, and bottled at 50%, flavours of vanilla custard and fruit salad, it becomes sweet with cinder toffee (crunchie bars) and pineapple. The smoke comes through on the palate and finish, lingering long and peaty.
