The Cambus grain distillery was once the backbone of many blends, though it suffered many difficulties during its operation from fires to mothballing for years until its final closure in 1993. We have had a good number of casks from Cadenhead from Cambus, and they always offer special grain whisky character - a feast of confectionary aromas and tastes (marshmallow, honey candies, boiled sweets) and plenty of sweet, fragrant oak. This particular Cambus is nutty, (crunchy nut cornflakes) with a lemony and appley flavour throughout. For those who have never tried a single grain whisky, this is a fine introduction to the 'cousin' of single malt whisky.
